Mel Abernathy VP Sales

Mel Abernathy is a solution-based sales executive with wide ranging expertise in domestic and international sales, licensing, strategic planning, product development and sourcing. He has a successful track record with major consumer brands spanning multiple product categories across all retail channels.

Mel began his career with his family’s rep agency which handled some of the largest houseware and tabletop brands at the time. From there, he pursued opportunities with various consumer products companies including one in Hong Kong where he gained substantial experience in product development, sourcing/manufacturing, logistics, price negotiations and facilitating strong business relationships with manufacturing partners in China and Taiwan. More recently, he’s led sales for both high-growth and established brands with focus in housewares and pet products.

Mel has a passion for product and creating branded and private-label merchandise solutions for various distribution channels in the US and internationally. He’s negotiated licensing agreements with some of the largest consumer brands in the US and has established strategic distribution partnerships in the UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Denmark.

In his free time, he enjoys running, windsurfing, spending quality time with his daughter and playing with his awesome dog, Rocky.
